FAVORITE READS OF 2020

One of my highlights of this year was I able to cultivate time to read, and this led me to be a part of this great book community. I’m excited for my 2021 buddy reads and book clubs!

Here are a few quotes from my favorite reads:

📚Racism should never have happened and so you don’t get a cookie for reducing it.
– Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Americanah

📚Colour is not a human or a personal reality; it is a political reality.
– James Baldwin, The Fire Next Time

📚If the burden is too much and stays too long, even love bends, cracks, comes close to breaking and sometimes does break. But when it’s in a thousand pieces around your feet, that doesn’t mean it’s no longer love.
– Ayobami Adebayo, Stay with Me

📚I want to ask, to scream, why are the women in Nigeria seem to be suffering for everything more than the men?
– Abi Dare, The Girl with the Louding Voice

📚Forgiveness, they shouted, all the while committing their wrongs.
– Yaa Gyasi, Homegoing
