A new 2021 release I’m dying to read is How Beautiful We Were by Imbolo Mbue.
Mbue’s debut novel Behold the Dreamers is a powerful and compelling read that depicts the story of a Cameroonian family migrating to America. This book was an emotional read and deeply resonated with me as I read about their struggle to assimilate to their environment.
So imagine my excitement and my eagerness to read her new book.
The new book tells a story about a fictional African village, where people are suffering from the occupancy of an American Oil Company. This sounds like another captivating story, and I’m planning to read it in the next few weeks!
Have you read this book? What did you think?
