Wow, I cannot believe April is over already; it just flew by. I thought my reading goal was manageable this month; I was wrong. I only read 2.5 books, and my goal was only 3.5! So, what can I say? Life got in the way! But also, one of the things I learned from reading How to Read a Book was the importance of slowing down to fully absorb the authors’ concepts.
So, here’s what I read this month:
- Monsters in the Middle by Tiphanie Yanique – least favorite book of the year; check out my review for why.
- Kindred by Octavia E. Butler – loved this book; review coming soon.
- Yinka, where is your Huzband? by Lizzie Damilola Blackburn- still reading and entertaining so far.
How was your April? Did you meet your reading goal?
I actually don’t know why, but my reading speed has dwindled so much lately. Maybe after my detox from WordPress comments, things will pick up again. If it wasn’t for audiobooks, I don’t know that I could maintain even a ‘slow’ pace. I read that you enjoyed Kindred, so maybe I’ll give that a go. Anyway, thanks for this post!

Yea, my reading pace has significantly decreased this year, but I feel like I’m retaining more on a positive note. Anyways, it’s pretty amazing that you were making so many comments per day; that’s impressive, but as you mentioned, super time consuming. So, now that you have more free time give Kindred a try. Happy reading!
